The Cupboards Are In!!!!!

Lee and I cut the counter top yesterday, to get rid of the hole from the sink. There are little lines where we cut, but I think we did a pretty good job. Then while I was at a birthday party today with the kids my wonderfully sweet hubby put the cupboards in and the counter top on (:
I took these pics before I started moving ALL of my stuff in. You don't realize just how much you have until you have to lug it up the stairs and find a place for it!! It will definitely take me a few days to get unpacked and put everything in its place (and I just found out I will be working -replacing a teacher who was unlucky enough to get Mono- until Christmas, so it may take a bit more than a few)  but I will take more pics once I've unpacked and decorated a bit.

Have a fabulous week everyone!!

My Own Space!!!!

My hubby had this super fantastic idea a couple of weeks ago (: He suggested that the kids move their room downstairs and I use their room as my scrappping room (: You can just imagine how happy I was!!!

We live in a very small house (780 sq ft plus a basement) so this is a very big thing. My oldest son has his own room downstairs but the 3 little ones were sharing one room (~9 x 9) upstairs. Downstairs my scrap stuff was at one end and their play room took up the rest.
As soon as Lee made the suggestion I went out and bought paint and started redecorating the basement so that we could move their beds down. Once that was done I started painting the bright orange bedroom upstairs a nice bright green (yes I like my colour (: )
I found out after they had mixed the paint, the bright green is a translucent colour. I ended up doing 2 coats of grey primer (to seal in the orange and use as the base I needed for the green) and then I ended up doing 5 coats of the green!! The WHOLE can!!!!! You can imagine how sick of painting I was ):

Here are a couple of pics of the room after a few of coats.

Once I was done painting we ripped the carpet out, only to discover very old floor boards underneath ): So yesterday, Lee and I picked up some plywood and put it down.

Then today day my Dad gave up his Sunday afternoon to come and help us put in the tile for the floor. It was leftovers they had from when they did their house.

So this is where we're at right now. I have cupboards, that Lee's boss gave him when they redid their kitchen,  that are going to go in on the window side of the room. I also lucked out and found a really good used counter top on Kijiji (gotta love it!!) I'm just trying to figure out what to do with the hole from the sink (which would end up under the window)

I will post more pics as the work continues. I really hope to move in by next weekend!!!

I wish I would have got a pic before we moved the kids out just so you could see the true difference!!

SO this is my excuse for not having new artwork to share with you (: Hopefully I will have some in a week or so (:

He Is...

my beautiful boy (:
I can't believe Aidan will be 8 on Monday!!! Man time flies! My Grandpa passed away the morning of the day Aidan was born. It was a very sad and happy all at the same time. My Mom had a poem someone gave her at her baby shower about an old man and a baby meeting on their way to and from heaven. They read it at my Grandpa's funeral, thinking that that could have been him and Aidan. Aidan reminds me of my Grandpa quite often, especially that famous frown (:  (my cousin said Grandpa must not have only met him along the way, he must have given him a good kick in the butt, for him to end up with such a frown!!) when he is being mischievous  (Grandpa was quite the tease) and of course when he is being stubborn!!!

I took this picture of Aidan when we out fishing one day in the summer. I really like this picture of him. I love it when I can get a picture of them without them knowing I'm taking it, you catch their natural expressions.

I used Basic Grey's Lime Rickey (one of my absolute favs!!) The brads, cs, and liquid glass are CTMH. I used an EK Success punch for the scalloped border, it actually embosses too but I'm not sure if it shows up in this pic. I used the cricut to cut out the title.

Well this is it for the layouts I completed when I went away for that weekend in October. I guess I better get my scrap room finished so I can get back to work!!! I've been painting for a few days now (between the kids room and my new scrap room) I'll maybe take some pics now and then when it is done, so you can see some of the progress.

Rock Star!!

All of the kids at camp decided to put on a concert for all of the adults (and any kids too chicken to get up on stage). They cleared off a deck to use as their stage, and they each picked out a song to dance and sing to. Kieran's favourite has always been Please Don't Stop the Music, so guess what he performed (: He lucked out that I had my hairspray and could put his hair into a mohawk of sorts and Daddy had some sunglasses kicking around in the truck. He was quite a little star!! He even had some of the women asking for his autograph (: When they explained to him what that was, he told them you spell it K I E R A N!!

The first page was from a sketch at Creative Scrappers which I missed posting on time for their challenge ):
I just added the second page because I had so many great pics and it worked. I hid the journaling under the pic on the first page (green tab)

Everything used on this layout was CTMH (You Rock paper pack) except for the stars (they're grungeboard) and I cut the letters out with the cricut. Oh! and I used an SU punch for the tab.

Splash!!

This was a pretty quick and fun layout to do (:
We had spent the day at my Mom and Dad's with my nieces and nephew. The kids were having a blast jumping off the dock, so I decided I should maybe take some pics. These were 3 of the really good ones. I took one of my other niece but all I ended up with was a big splash (:

I used some new BoBunny paper (sorry I can't remember the name):. The cs, chipboard, buttons, and ink are all CTMH. I used the graphically speaking cricut cartridge for the title (I had to cut the dolphin off). The little splashes were from my friend Linda (thanks chicky!!) They were perfect, just what the page needed to finish it!! She picked them up at Big Lots in the states (the joys of living near the border)

A Hunting We Will Go

These are pictures of my DH and kiddies (minus the big one) just before they left to go bird hunting. My poor little Kieran is so short that the vest he was wearing almost went down to his toes (:
I posted 2 pics because the one that looks closest to the true colour has a glare on the photos. I find the other one is a bit washed out. Gotta love lighting (:

Most of the products used on this layout are CTMH: cs, B&T,ink, and felt. The title was cut with Life's a Beach cricut cartridge and the gun was with the camping cartridge. I believe the little licence plate is Karen Foster.

The Big One

Everyone at camp teases my poor hubby about never catching any fish so this picture is proof that he does (:
His problem is that he has 3 little munchkins to get set up and by the time he's done all of that and finally has his own line in the water, their ready to go back ):

This is another layout from the weekend I was away. I used a sketch #124 from Creative Scrappers but I missed the deadline to enter ): I used a Karen Foster kit (paper and stickers) I picked up at Linda's Scrapbooking in Lively, and the buttons are from my stash. I drew in the dotted line with my black uniball, and the cs is CTMH.

Full Speed Ahead!!

I absolutely love this picture of Aidan (: He was goofing around while he was rowing Azelyn around in the Little Row Boat, and has a hilarious look on his face. This little boat has been in our family since my Mom was a little girl.
I took the picture with a feature on my camera where everything is black and white except for yellow or green objects. You likely can't see it but Aidan's hair has a tinge to it.
I used the 10/03 sketch from My Little Sketch Book (minus the dinosaur) for this layout and am entering it in their challenge.

Material Used:
MME: paper and tags
CTMH: chipboard, felt, ink, and cs

Look Closely (:

Kieran was playing down the shore a bit from my Mom's. He kept peeking around the trees and making faces at me. These were a few of the shots I took.

I used the My Minds Eye paper from a kit I picked up from Peachy Cheap, the cricut cartridge Graphically Speaking for the title, and the cs and brads are CTMH.

I used the 10/17 sketch from My Little Sketch Book for this layout. It isn't exactly the same but pretty close.

The Protector

I think this is my favorite picture of all of the ones I took this summer. Azelyn had went to the end of the dock, at camp, without her life jacket on. Kieran knowing the rule thought he better go and make sure she was OK, also without a life jacket on. He put his arm around her to make sure she didn't fall in (:

I did this layout for the sketch challenge at Sketchabilities, and I had also used hearts to enter it in a Design Dollies challenge but I missed the boat on that one ):

Products Used:
Basic Grey's Olivia paper and stickers
CTMH stamp set State of Mind
Tim Holtz : die cut- paper rosette to make the flower
SU: embossing folder

I used the cricut to cut out the scalloped circle.

I Only Have Eyes For You!

I just spent a wonderful 4 day weekend, with my fantabulous friend Jen, scrapbooking in Bruce Mines, Ontario. Deb and Alison from O.C. Scrapbookers hosted the Fall Flury, an event I look forward to every year!! I had a lot of fun scrapping and chatting with friends I have made there over the last few years (: Missing you already girls!!! My goal was to complete as many layouts as possible and complete as many sketches and challenges as possible. I managed to almost complete (I have finishing touches for one major project to finish) 16 pages!!!

This layout is of Azelyn just goofing around (: Kieran had got these glasses in his loot bag from a birthday party and Azelyn had a blast with them. I thought this paper was perfect for it!

Products used:

CTMH: cardstock, ink, B&T and stickease (Hooligans), buttons, ribbon, liquid glass, and stamp (The Boo Crew)
Cricut: October 31st cartridge (isn't that tree incredible?!)

thread- I don't remember?? A friend (thanks Kathy!!) at the crop helped me out with her sewing machine and her cricut cartridge (:

I am entering this layout in:
1) Scrap and Stamp's challenge: use stitching on your layout.
2) Heart 2 Heart Challenge: something Halloween
3) My Little Sketch Book: sketch 10/10
4) Design Dollies: purple, black, and white challenge

The Places You Will Go (:

I started this card a month or so ago and just finally finished it on Saturday!! It was meant to be for a challenge but I ran into trouble with my die cutting and it has taken me this long to get back to it!! I just love this little guy on the tricycle, and the sentiment is one of my favs!!
My friends from University just had a little guy in June, so this card is to go with his gift. I have had the gift so long that he has already grown out of the size of the first outfit and I have had to go shopping again!!! I better get it out soon before his next growth spurt (:

The stamp is Mo Manning's Bye Bye Boy. The paper is BG's Oliver, CS is CTMH. Colouring was done with copics, image stamped in Momento. The flower and buttons are from the wonderful ladies at O.C. Scrapbookers (Scrapaholics) Deb and Alison who were at the crop I went to this past weekend. The shading on the die cut was with Chalk Ink by Versamark.

I am entering this in Paper Romance's challenge which is to use 3 buttons.

Happy Birthday Sam!!

My cousin's little guy celebrated his 3rd birthday on Monday, so I made this little card for him. I followed the requirements for the CTMH heart to Heart challenge but I forgot to post it Sunday night and missed the deadline ):

Products used:  The cs, dp (animal cookies), stamp (Life's a Jungle), letters (lots of dots irresistables), ribbon       , and ink is all CTMH. I coloured the little lion with my watercolour pencils and blending pen (also CTMH). I used 2 punches from SU and a cuttlebug embossing folder.

Snowfriends

I did this layout for both the final Sketch and the final Elements Challenge for Sept. (use yellow, paint, a tag, polka dots, and journalling or wordy sentiment) over at Design Dollies, and the Anything Goes Challenge at Scrap & Stamp. This is a picture of my son Aidan with the snowman he built at my in laws while he was visiting them. I just picked up this cute snowman paper (by Basic Grey) at SGD when I was visiting there last weekend, and I couldn`t wait to use it!!

Supplies used:
CTMH: cs, acrylic paint, Ticket Tags ss
Basic Grey: Jovial dp, letter stickers from Lime Rickey
Cricut cartridge: story book, used for red `snowflake`?

My Grandma will be turning 80 on October 13th!! So when I saw this cute little stamp by s.w.a.l.k. (while I was visiting SGD) I had to get it!! I am using this card as my entry at Design Dollies for their colour challenge (navy/lavender/tan) as well as for The Town Scrapper's Different Shape challenge.

Toes in the Sand

I made this layout as my entry for the door prize for Kraftin' Kimmie's Krafty Day. (I will post some pics from this super fabulous day later!!!) We had to use at least one of the Kraftin' Kimmie stamps and the colour lilac. I am also using it as an entry in If the Shoe Fits challenge, which is to use flowers.
I can't remember what brand of paper it was, I've had it in my stash for a long time just waiting for the perfect moment to use it (: The CS, felt, ink, glitz glitter gel, photo corners, buttons and some of the flowers are CTMH. I coloured KK's Florence with my copics. The title is done with thickers, and the beach border is EK success.
I got the idea for this layout from CTMHs new book called MAGIC!!

So I didn't end up winning the door prize but the competition was pretty stiff!! I had soooooo much fun though, that it didn't matter!!
We'll see what happens at If the Shoe Fits??!

This is only page 32 of 104 ): Boy do I have to get my butt in gear!!!

Washer Pendants

One of my fellow CTMH consultants made these awesome pendants and I had to give them a try. To see Haley's tutorial, click here.
I'd also like to thanks Deneen for posting her pendants, and tips on making them (:

I made them to give the girls in the Stamping 6 group I'm part of. (Hey GFs!!) I covered both sides with paper, which made it a little more difficult to file and leave nice edges on both sides. The paper I used is all CTMH, the washers came from the Home Hardware in Lively, ON (: , the bling is mostly CTMH, and I used CTMH liquid glass to seal it all in.

Happy Now, Happy Forever

Publish Post
I made this anniversary card for one of my dear friends and her hubby. I'm a little late but I know she will forgive me (: (Sorry Kirst!! I thought yours was in August ): )
I used CTMH's July stamp of the month called Happy Forever. The little hedgehogs are so darn cute!!! I also used an old SOTM called Cherish the Moment, the Cherry-O Creative Basics pack (paper & ribbon), coordinating CS, some flowers and bling. I coloured the hedgie with my copics and used my spellbinders to cut him out. The green piece was embossed using a cuttlebug folder, and I used a bit of stickles to shine things up (:
I messed up on the number nine and it's still bugging me but.... I'm not sure what I can do to fix it???

BIG BELLEH!!

I caught the kids sneaking out after I had put them to bed one night. They had forgot a stuffed animal on the car and decided they needed to get it before they could go to sleep. It was one of the really warm weeks in April but both of them (Kieran and Azelyn) had on toques (but no pants) (: It was quite a funny sight when I caught them on their way out the door. Kieran is always talking about his big belly (which he pronounces belleh) and I managed to get these pics this time (: while he was trying to make me laugh so I wouldn't give them heck. Gotta love him!!!

The stamp set, ink, brads, chipboard arrows, buttons, and cardstock are all CTMH, the letters are Thickers, the patterned paper, I'm not sure?? and the ribbon is $ store.

My Star

These are some pics of Aidan watching TV. I love his expressions (:
I can't remember the brand of patterned paper (sorry), the chipboard stars, CS, ink, ribbon, and staples are all CTMH. The sentiment is from CTMH's You Rock stamp set and the chipboard is stamped with Spot on Backgrounds SS.
The star border is Martha's. The layout is from CTMH's Reflections Book

On Top of the World

I took my 3 little ones to Science North over the March Break. Before you go inside they have part of the World coming out of the ground. The kids stood on there while I took some pics of them.
I used Cricut Stamped for the title and In My World (??) for the globe. The ribbon is dollar store, the buttons, chipboard, some of the CS and ink are CTMH. I can't remember who made the B&T?? I used CTMH Noted Backgrounds on the chipboard.

Swinging Beauty

These are pics of Azelyn on Easter Sunday. She wanted to wear her princess dress to go to Hunny's for brunch. She even wore her beautiful turquoise crocs with it ): Needless to say the bottom was full of mud before we were even close to leaving and she had to change. But I did manage to get these pictures before that happened.
The paper is Basic Grey Bitter Sweet. The journaling spot, ribbon, brads and CS are CTMH, the lace is from the $store, and I used the flower punch from SU for the flowers. (the flowers did look much better but they had got squashed a bit ): Thanks to Deb for teaching me how to make them (: ) The chipboard is Bazill. The title was cut using the Jasmine cartridge on the cricut. I used design studio to weld the letters together which made it a breeze to put on.

Up Up & Away

These pictures are from a day we spent at Science North over the March Break. Aidan was very excited that the butterfly "landed" on his finger (:
I used the cuttlebug to emboss the black strips at the top, forgetting that it wasn't really possible to do the whole strip the way I thought I could. This is the reason for the flowers and buttons at the top, to cover the flat space. I also used MS butterfly (thanks Jud) and loop punches. Some of the CS is CTMH, the other paper I can't remember (sorry). I also used one of CTMHs window charms to highlight the butterfly.. The letters are Thickers.
