EGG HUNT - Use It or Lose It Challenge #2

Our challenge this week at Use It or Lose It is a photo inspiration challenge. I love the colour combo along with all of the texture options!! The green is actually pretty close to my scrapping room walls (:

So, along with using this photo as inspiration, you should also try to use up some of your scraps or older scrapping supplies that have been gathering dust.

For my layout I used a mix of paper packs (Miracle and ??I couldn't for the life of me find the name of the other one) and scrap cardstock.  All products are CTMH except for the Thickers, the twine, an MS punch, and a spellbinder I cut the circle with. I used the Stitched Together stamp set around the edges of the page and on the circles (love how it looks and am so glad I ordered that one!!). The little flowers were stamped with June's SOTM-Life is Tweet. The layout is from my Page maps calendar (I finally finished the January sketch)!!

The pics in my layout are from this past Easter. Every year my aunt invites a bunch of us for an Easter egg hunt and then we decorate eggs. This is the highlight of Easter for my kids!! Searching for candy and then getting all colourful dying eggs with their cousins and friends (: Who could ask for anything more!!? The middle pic is the group shot and then I cut the one of my 3 kids in half to go on either side.

I hope you can play along with us at Use It or Lose It, remember you have 2 weeks to link up!! Head on over and check out what the rest of the DT has created!!

Have a great weekend!!

Jenn (:

Use It or Lose It- Challenge #1

I am so excited to be part of the DT for the new Challenge Blog, Use It or Lose It!! Where the objective is to use up your scraps designing a new card, layout, or altered item (: Along with using your scraps there will always be one other twist. This week we are using our very first CTMH stamp (: Now for me it was difficult to remember which one was my first, it has been 6 years after all!! but I'm pretty sure if Flutter didn't come in my kit I got it shortly after.

I have created a layout of Azelyn on her first birthday. I have used a mixture of new products with old, but other then the cs all of my paper was scraps from old CTMH kits. The butterflies are the Flutter stamp which I have added a bit of glitter glue to to bling them up (: I also used a mixture of buttons, bling and the new Garden Wooden Shapes (I'm really loving these!! they look great just the way they are but you can also ink them up or stamp on them!) The title is one of our Make It Count Irresistables Numbers, which I inked up and then glimmer misted. The mat was cut with the cricut.

The inspiration for this layout came from one I saw on Pinterest. You can check it out for yourself on my boards.

Make sure you check out what the other Design Team members have come up with (you can find them on my side board, or click on the link above to go to the main page for Use It or Lose It) I hope you can join us in our challenge to use up those scraps!!! Feel free to grab the gorgeous blinky my fellow team member Mandi has created for us!!

Have a fabulous weekend!!!

Jenn (:

XOXO

I started scrapbooking 6 years ago when I signed up to be a Close To My Heart consultant (Feb 2nd was my anniversary) The reason I signed up was that I wanted to do a scrapbook of our wedding pictures. Well, 6 years later and 10 1/2 years married, I have made a total of 12 pages for our wedding album!! ): and some of those still have to be journalled. On the upside though, I have scrapbooked a lot of other things along the way (:
This layout was done using the CTMH Sonoma workshop on the go. I debated for a bit about getting it but I am so glad I did!! The colours and theme work perfectly with out wedding pictures. I have started the second layout so hopefully I will have it finished in the next week or so to show you. This was the first time I have done the scalloped border with a corner rounder, I have to say it wasn't too difficult!! The only catch is that you have to have one that you can take the guard off of. The title was stamped with the Bohemian Alpha, definitely one of my favs!!

Off to finish up my plans for the first week of the new semester!! I'm really going to miss my students from last semester!! on the whole they were a good bunch (:
