FIRE!!!!

These pictures remind me of the Robert Munsch story, Angela's Airplane!! except for the fact that Aidan is in a firetruck instead (:

These pictures were taken on Mother's Day a couple of years ago. The volunteer firefighters, in my little home town of Walford, ON, always put on a pancake breakfast to give all of those men an out for cooking breakfast for their wives and mothers. This time they brought out their "new" firetruck for everyone to check out. The kids just loved it.

I used BG Oliver paper and brads, Bo-bunny cs and CTMH stamps and cs. The title was cut using the cricut. I am a big fan of the Bo-bunny double dot/swiss dot cs! I find reds so hard to match but the fact that this paper has two tones makes it so easy!!

76/78 pages for 2011

2012 Challenge!!

Happy New Year!!!
Cheers!! I apologize for the half naked kids!! We spent the night at home, drinking Shirley Temples, making pizza, eating treats and watching movies!! All 3 kids stayed up till the New Year (: Codie was out with friends.

I was supposed to go and visit with friends and family today but the weather isn't looking so great (between rain and snow!) so we're at home instead. It has given me a chance to peruse the new CTMH Idea Book and make my wish list (:
Lee is gone fishing, so in between blogging and shopping, I've been breaking up fights!! Aidan is getting restless and bugging the other two, so today would have been a good day to go somewhere and be with different people!! I keep threatening to throw them outside if they don't cut it out (:

Anyway,

I am starting my new challenge for 2012 (even though I'm not done posting 2011) So who is in for the new year!!! You can challenge yourself to cards, layouts/pages... and the rest of us will be there to comment encourage you (:
I am going to challenge myself to 78 pages, 12 fancy cards and 30 "quick" Christmas cards (maybe if I start them now I might be done by next December!!)
Let me know if you are in and I will add you to my side bar (:

Hugs!!

Strawberry Fields!!!

I have to say these are some of my favs from that weekend crop!! I was hoping to enter them in some challenge but I didn't come across any that worked.
I took Kieran and Azelyn berry picking at my cousin's U Pick farm (in Massey, ON) at the beginning of July. I don't think either of them had ever been to a farm like this before. They thought they were in heaven being surrounded by all of those delicious strawberries!! Even with them being small it didn't take long to fill a couple of baskets!! which was a good thing because the clouds started to roll in and we could hear thunder in the distance.
I played it safe and carried the baskets under each arm on the way back to the car. I didn't want to chance the handles of the baskets giving out and dumping all of those gorgeous berries!! I should have got a picture of me too!  I realized, once I put the baskets down, that I had two big strawberry juice stains on my shirt, it looked like someone had grabbed my boobs with strawberries all over their hands!! I never did get those stains out!! Thank goodness I happened to have a spare shirt in the car!

The patterned paper I used was MME (So Sofie- Savvy- In Love) It was perfect for these pictures!! I was so happy when we found it in the bins!! The cs, ribbon, pins, stamps, buttons and chipboard are all CTMH. The letters in the first layout are MME and the title on the second layout was done with the Storybook cartridge on the cricut. The strawberry was a heart and I added some fancy corners to the top.

74/78 complete!!  (the other 4 pages are complete but won't be posted until the New Year, I finished the last one today!!)

First Day

This is my little miss' first day of school. One thing that sucks about being a teacher is that you don't get to put your own kids on the bus ): so that is Daddy's job. I think he got more picks of the baby bears up in the tree then he did of the kids but...
I used BoBunny paper, which I have used before for a summer and a winter layout (guess I really like it eh!?)    I think I used an MS punch for the border. The cs, stamps (except for the Student one), chipboard alpha, and buttons are all CTMH

70/78 complete, more to come later!!

He is...

Fantastic!!
This is the second layout from CTMH's Mischief workshop on the go. The pictures are from Kieran's SK Grad so I thought the books in the layout worked. I have to say the planning that went into this kit was amazing!! I did all 3 projects and every little thing you could think of was thought of!!! Those designers at CTMH are smart cookies (:
I used the cricut to cut out the diecut edge.

The graduation was very cute!! Each of the kids got up on stage to tell us what they plan to do when they grow up (: Kieran is planning to be a firefighter and a policeman so that he can help people and stop the bad guys. That is his kindergarten teacher in the one pic with him.

 I will have more tomorrow!!

68/78 layouts complete!!  (another 9 I just haven't posted):
which means I need to do one page tomorrow!!!

Hawks

I just realized I have a bunch of layouts I finished in October that I still haven't posted!! I need to get them in before Sunday, I guess!!
I've been busy trying to organize my house a bit and get my scrap room back to myself! My sweet hubby gave me a new laptop for Christmas so I have been able to reclaim the counter space that was taken up by the old one (which had to be set up as a desktop because the screen went, a year ago)!! Talk about excitement!!!
Anyway, this layout was inspired by one I saw in Scrapbooks, etc, (whatever issue would have been mailed in October). The pictures are of my oldest, Codie, playing football for his high school team. It only lasted a few weeks before he decided football wasn't his thing. He had actually been "convinced" by his very angry mother that he should give it a try (long story!! let's just say he told the VP he had too many chores at home and so he wouldn't be able to stay for practices and games) for the spring and then it would be up to him if he played in the fall.
I used a mish mash of paper (basic grey, CTMH, Karen Foster..) on this one and all of the stitching was done with the help of my Sew Easy, if you notice there isn't as much stitching on the second page (:
The letters were cut out with the cricut and the stamp is CTMH.

These make 66/78 pages complete, more to come tomorrow!!

Birthday Girl!!

A big HAPPY BIRTHDAY goes out to my wonderful GF Kirsty on December 22nd!! She got this card a little early because I actually finished one in time for Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge (a sketch) this week and I needed to post it before the weekend!
Kirsty always makes such beautiful cards for everyone she knows, so even if I don't make a single other card all year, I think it is important to make one for her!! Now according to her, the more bling on the card, the more you like the person, so I made sure I used one of my best fancy flowers on her card (:

The paper is MME, cs, ribbon, and the sentiment are CTMH and the image is of course Kraftin' Kimmie, which was coloured with copics!! I cut the circle out with my new Elegant Edges cricut cartridge. The flowers are Recollections. The leaves were punched with an MS punch.
