Oh Christmas Tree!!

Finally!! My first layout of 2012!! I've had it pretty much done for a week or so, I just needed to add my journalling, I finally got to it yesterday.

These pictures are from the day we went to get our Christmas tree. We hopped in the truck and took a drive down the back roads near our house. There weren't a tonne of nice trees down the road we went, but Aidan spotted this one and was so excited to cut it down (: It wasn't the normal pine tree we normally get, I think it was a spruce. The branches aren't as strong as a pine but it didn't lose as many needles, which was really nice for cleaning up (:
You'll notice that one of our family members is missing ): He is the typical teenager, time with his girlfriend comes before doing things with his family, but we had fun anyway!!
The picture of Lee in the antlers doesn't seem to fit in so well with the other pics I used but I finally got one of him with a normal smile, I even blew that pic up to maybe use on a layout all by itself (:

This is the other layout I did with my group last weekend. It is the layout from the samples for October's SOTM Holiday Magic,  at the back of the CTMH Idea Book. The actual sketch comes from our  Magic Book. It was a nice quick layout to put together. We used the Elemental paper pack, October's SOTM along with the eclectic alpha, some buttons and glitter glue. All products used were CTMH.
The flourishes were stamped and then traced with Stardust Glitz Glitter Gel, just in case anyone is wondering (:

  1. I love this layout! It`s great when you only have a few scraps left to use. Are the flourishes done with glitz gel...they are fabulous! I don`t enjoy freehanding things like that. It makes me nervous. I notice `mom` is also missing from the pics :) We are always the ones with the camera right lol!

  4. Wow, I really love this layout, it's STUNNING!!! I love the blocks of patterned paper and how the photos are laid out, and I love how you've placed the embellies and done the glittery swirls! But probably the best part is that photo of Lee!!! We've got the same antlers at my in-laws place and I've got some pics of Ailis wearing them, too cute! You know, I didn't even notice 'til Jenn mentioned it, but yeah, you're not there! Sounds pretty typical of all of us, there should be a support group for us, haha! Anyway, enjoy your stay-at-home day, the roads must be brutal there. We're supposed to get rain tomorrow, so I hope that doesn't mean ice, I get so freaked out with ice on the roads! Big hugs to you, Roxy.

  5. Jenn I am with Roxy, I think this layout is stunning as well and I love it. I am sitting trying to think if I have pictures that I could use to copy it...lol. There is not just one thing on here that I like. I think that your title really pops - I like how you used the tag as the beginning of your title. All I can say is it has a wonderful flow and feel to it. Thanks for sharing.

  6. The more I look at your pages, the more I am becoming inspired to start scrapbooking. I love the layout and think what wonderful treasures these are going to be when your little ones are gone -- from the nest! Beautiful job and Daddy really looked like he was into it!
