Use It or Lose It- Challenge #1

I am so excited to be part of the DT for the new Challenge Blog, Use It or Lose It!! Where the objective is to use up your scraps designing a new card, layout, or altered item (: Along with using your scraps there will always be one other twist. This week we are using our very first CTMH stamp (: Now for me it was difficult to remember which one was my first, it has been 6 years after all!! but I'm pretty sure if Flutter didn't come in my kit I got it shortly after.

I have created a layout of Azelyn on her first birthday. I have used a mixture of new products with old, but other then the cs all of my paper was scraps from old CTMH kits. The butterflies are the Flutter stamp which I have added a bit of glitter glue to to bling them up (: I also used a mixture of buttons, bling and the new Garden Wooden Shapes (I'm really loving these!! they look great just the way they are but you can also ink them up or stamp on them!) The title is one of our Make It Count Irresistables Numbers, which I inked up and then glimmer misted. The mat was cut with the cricut.

The inspiration for this layout came from one I saw on Pinterest. You can check it out for yourself on my boards.

Make sure you check out what the other Design Team members have come up with (you can find them on my side board, or click on the link above to go to the main page for Use It or Lose It) I hope you can join us in our challenge to use up those scraps!!! Feel free to grab the gorgeous blinky my fellow team member Mandi has created for us!!

Have a fabulous weekend!!!

Jenn (:

  1. Gorgeous!! I love how the papers create a staircase effect - I remember that paper pack from long ago! I am pretty sure I have CTMH papers that are just as old. It's nice to see you breathing new life into our stash!

  2. It's Stunning Jenn...I just love the flow of the layout! The embellishing is so beautiful! I hope you don't mind if I case this one! I have flutter as well...still a favorite of mine after all these years! Azelyn is such a sweetheart!

I agree with the comment you left...I really felt great after I finished this challenge. I love all the scraps I used and a rarely used stamp set. I can't wait for the next one! Hope you have a great weekend as well!

  3. How lovely that the picture of Azelyn has been highlighted so beautifully. It is nice to see that even though the design is basically simple, one photo and all, that you were able to jazz it up and really make it pop. And, perfect application of used bits of paper. I have tons and seem to think bad things will happen if I throw them out!

  4. Hey, I don't know if I said congrats to you for your new DT, that's great, and of course they're lucky to have you on board! I will definitely head on over and follow along, and I just made some background paper with one of my oldest CTMH kits, coincidentally! I think I know which stamp set is my first, too, and it's one I love and haven't used in forever! Anyway, this layout is adorable, the photo is fantastic, and I love the way you layered up the strips and embellies, nobody would ever guess it was older stash being used! I just got your email, and I had to laugh, I totally remember that part from the movie, it was sooooo funny! Hugs, Rox.
