My Handsome Boy

Man am I slacking or what!!! Work and nice weather have totally taken over my time!!! The countdown till the end of school has begun!!! 16 days!!!! Speaking of school, I ran into one of my students from 3 years ago at Walmart today!! She was that one kid in the class that gave me a reason to plan lessons every night (it was a jackpot class!!). She also gave me a beautiful card, with an even more beautiful note inside at Christmas that year (not to mention a  couple of boxes of chocolates) that I keep handy when things are nuts at work!! When she saw me she said "I can't believe it's you!!! How are you!? I want a hug". What a sweetie, eh!? She is now in her first year of college and doing really well (: It's really neat to see what your past students end up doing.

This is another layout I did at my weekend crop in April. I have always loved this pic of Aidan at camp. It's so him.
I used Echo Park's Little Boy collection for this one. Along with some Bo-bunny double dot cs (love that BoBunny dot paper!!) The journalling cards and buttons are CTMH. I bummed the twine from my dear friend Jen (: A big hug and thanks go to my sweet friend Stacey who did the beautiful zig zag stitch for me and then let me play/learn on her sewing machine. I did all of the purposefully messy stitching (:
I am going to enter this in Seriously Creative's Challenge- Buttons and Twine, and Let's Get Sketchy's sketch challenge.

So this Saturday is mine and Lee's 11th anniversary and we're actually going to get some time for just us. Our moms have agreed to take the kids for a couple of days so that we can either go to camp (and I will get to fish) or go out for dinner and a movie.... It will be a nice little break!!

Have a great weekend!!!

Jenn (:

  3. Hey, Jenn, love that you're getting to play along with MY challenge, yay!!! I love the bright primaries here, and the journaling cards popping out the top, and of course the buttons and twine! Gorgeous!!! And it is a beautiful photo! And way to go with the stitching, isn't it fun? Happy Anniversary, you are so lucky to have some time away just the two of you - enjoy every minute, because who knows when you'll get it again!

I had to laugh about you not wanting to get a puppy - yes, they are serious trouble and stress. Last night the stinker puked in five different places all on the CARPET! Why couldn't he aim for the linoleum? Grrrr! I'm hoping once we fence the backyard (any day now, should be done, fingers crossed!) this will all be a distant memory.

As for what I'm reading, I just finished two really good books: The Dovekeepers by Alice Hoffman, and The Kindness of Strangers by Katrina Kittle. Both I think you would like! Now I'm onto Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay, and so far it's really good. I thoroughly enjoyed City of Bones too, so have fun with that one! Well, off to finish my post! So glad I stopped by, hugs, Rox.
