Crop Colouring

Good morning!
I had a chance to do some colouring at a crop this past weekend. I had just received some new goodies from Kraftin' Kimmie so thought I would colour some of them up. For this card I used Look For Rainbows. I coloured her up with my copics. I am entering this in the Kraftin' Kimmie's Anything Goes challenge over at their blog. CS is CTMH, the oval die is Lawn Fawn, the patterned paper is from Quite Contrary, white dots are Nuvo drops ,and the twine is from my stash.

MWAAAAAAAH!! It's been 4 looooong years!!

I can't believe it has been almost 4 years since I last posted. Not sure if there is even anyone still out there?? I am hoping to make more time for crafting and less time on this darn computer!! I want to start sharing my work again so I am going to start with this card I made for my cousin and her wife who very generously opened up their home to my family and I when we planned a tourist trip to Toronto this past summer. We did the City Pass in 2 days, it was crazy!!
For this card I used Stampin' Bella's Seniorita Wanda. I love her!! I coloured her with my copics and the paper is old Basic Grey, I believe. I tried out some of the Ranger Enamel Accents.

I am entering this card over at Kraftin' Kimmies sketch challenge.

Birthday for Jenn

I don't know if there is still anyone out there to see this, but I made a card and actually took a picture of it before I gave it away, so I thought I would post it. Summer is almost here so maybe I'll get around to doing this more often (:
My wonderful friend Jenn (who took me on that amazing Hawaii cruise in the fall) just had her birthday a couple of weeks ago so I made her this card.

I used Dandy Lion from Kraftin Kimmie. As soon as I saw her I knew she was a have to have!! Easy to colour, especially when you can just use stickles on her poof balls (: The base of the card was made using CTMHs Art Philiosophy cartridge (might have been the Artiste cartridge??) I used spellbinders to cut out her and the mat. I had to do a little out of the box technique to get the whole image. She was coloured with copics.

Well if you are reading this, thanks for not deleting me from your list of blogs!!! I will get out there and check out all of yours soon!!!

Jenn (:

Where has the Time went??!!!!!

I've kind of fallen off the blog train!!!! I can't believe it's been almost 3 months since my last post!!! I can tell you I definitely did not reach my goal this year but I do have several layouts done that I just haven't had the chance to photograph.
I have to say that for some reason I have felt pressured to make cards and create pages this year, I'm not sure why??? I don't have any real deadlines, etc. Because I felt this way I didn't want to do anything ): I have been doing projects for my Hostess Club but those have instructions so it's easy enough. I guess the fact that I had to relocate my scraproom had something to do with it too. I am still putting on the finishing touches but hopefully I will have some pics to share soon.

I do have something to share with you!! A few pics from my trip to Hawaii!!!!

Jen and I on the big plane to Honolulu

First pics of palm trees - Honolulu

Mr. Crab on the beach in Kona where we went scuba diving

Yummy drink called a Lava Flow - on the ship

Beautiful Driftwood Beach in Kauai

Got a pic with Allison (Orthner -leader of the pack)

and a pic with Jill (Hildebrand)

It was a little windy (: That is the Waimea Canyon behind me

This is the Haleakala crater.

Also at the crater but looking the other way. We were above the clouds. 10 000 feet up.

One of the fabulous scrapbook stores we found in Hawaii. This one was in Maui.

Hibiscus- one of the many beautiful flowers in Hawaii

Another great scrapbook store. This one is in Hilo and run by a girl originally from BC

Well, I guess that's it for now!! I am going to attempt to do Project Life this year. I find that I forget the little things the kids say and do, so even if I do a weekly or monthly layout I can record these things. Have a fabulous New Year!!!!

Hugs!!

Jenn (:

P.S. for those of you I usually follow regularly, I apologize for being MIA the last bit!!!

Dad's Birthday Card

My dad's birthday was last Sunday. This was a quick card I put together for him. It was easy but I like how it turned out. I got the idea from a card I saw on Pinterest. It was made by Lyssa.

I used a Sizzix embossing folder, Tim Holtz and CTMH paper, the image is a SU stamp (Harvest Blessings) and the sentiment is CTMH.

So I have some exciting news!!!! (if you are on my FB you've already heard) My friend Jen is taking me on the Crop & Cruise in Hawaii!!!!! My cc just got charged for my passport so I am on my way!!! We fly out November 9th and enjoy the beautiful Islands for 8 days!!! How lucky am I!!!? I'm so glad Jen's husband doesn't like to scrapbook (: So if you have any travelling advice for me, please leave it, because to be quite honest I haven't really traveled before!!

Have a happy Thanksgiving weekend everyone!!!!! Enjoy your time with family and friends!!

Absolutely Fearless

This is a layout of Kieran learning how to ride a two wheeler without training wheels. It was just last summer and he was 6, which is a bit older then the other two boys, but Kieran is just a little guy so it took him a while longer to be big enough (: As you can tell from the pictures, he was pretty excited!!!

I used Graphically Speaking for the title, Bo-bunny double dot and I think Echo Park paper. The chipboard and cs are CTMH, which I stamped on with a background stamp.

So with only supply teaching this year, I have had some time to start putting my new scrap space together. It isn't quite finished but as soon as it is I will post some pics, along with some of my old room transformed for Azelyn. I think I did a pretty good job transferring most of the room to a 6x6 space (:
 Have a great weekend everyone!!!!

(I am a third of the way there with only 3 months left): I did manage to complete about 12 pages this past weekend at Fall Flurry  though!!

Splash Zone

This is layout # 2 from the Footloose WOTG. The pics are from a few summers ago. My Aunt & Uncle came out to my parents' place and took the kids out on the tube. Azelyn was still only a little fart but she was bound and determined she was going too!!! We sent her out when her Daddy wasn't around to see her go (: He's a little overprotective sometimes!! Even our little chicken, Kieran, went out!!
(just looked and realized Azelyn isn't in any of these pics but she was there)

I love how the letters for the title turned out!!! I stamped them in the lighter colour ink and then used the rock and roll technique to get the darker colour on the outside.

So Azelyn is now in her new room!! She's still not sure about sleeping by herself (her and the boys have always shared a room)
After a bit of a battle with the hubby I think I won (: As we were taking everything out of my scrap room he was going to throw out the part of my counter top I wasn't going to have room for in my space downstairs. I asked him if he could put it in his garage (20x24) until I could find somewhere else to use it. He had a bit of a fit about everybody else's junk being in his garage and said it could go in the shed. I was ticked!! and PMSing!!! I'm giving up my one space that is mine!! and I can't put a little piece of counter top in his huge garage!!! So, the next day when I finished clearing out the room I loaded everything into the living room and kitchen and left it there (: I was going out before he got home from work so when he got home he had a nice little surprise (: You want to be a jerk to your PMSing wife, you're going to pay for it (:  You'll never guess where the rest of the cupboards and counter top ended up!!! Instead of one little piece of counter top in his garage he has cupboards, a desk and the rest of the counter top in there.
My dad came and helped us put the wall up in the basement on Sunday, he also added a few plug ins for me (: Lee had Monday off so he got the drywall up and built my closet for me. We just have to finish sanding the drywall and then I can paint and move in!!!! I am so anxious to get my own space again!!!!
Have a fabulous weekend everyone!!!! I'm going to see that cutie Dean Brody in concert on Saturday!!!

Scuba Kids

This layout is one of CTMHs Footloose WOTG layouts (I will post the other one shortly). I absolutely love this kit!! The colours and patterns are perfect for any summer/beach layout.
The pics are from a couple of summers ago. Kieran and Azelyn were having a good time with the goggles and snorkle. The one of Azelyn peeking in at Kieran (their faces smushed together) is one of my favs (:

Well today is the day!! I have to be a good mom and start packing up my beloved scrapbook room ): It is time for Azelyn to have her own space (bedroom)! She still likes sleeping in the same room as her brothers but she is a little girl with a lot of junk and we need to keep it contained!!! I'm not sure what I am going to do with everything until my small space in the basement is ready but hopefully I'll figure something out! It will give me a chance to go through things and maybe purge a bit??

Just remembered as I was typing this that today is my 3rd anniversary of blogging!!

Have a great long weekend everyone!!!

Summer Days

I must say I have been enjoying those summer days and haven't been doing much scrapping or blogging!!!
I used one of Echo Parks fabulous paper packs for this layout. The colours are so vibrant and fun (: The buttons and cs are CTMH.
The pics are of my boys and my girlfriend's daughter a few years ago, they have been sitting in my to scrap pile for a while. My fav is the one of Aidan with his legs stuck in the tube, he was so ticked!!
I am going to enter this in Creative Accents; Seriously Creative Challenge for August- Summer Sunshine. I was lucky enough to be the winner last month and have already went shopping at their store for a fabulous new stamp (:

Stickin' Around

Just home for a few days from camp and then we're out for another week. We had a great week out there even though we couldn't have campfires at night. It has been so dry that we are even hoping for rain on our holidays!!!
My dear sweet Kieran, who is 7 but the size of his 5 year old sister, is picking up on how often people are commenting on how cute he is!!! We were sitting on our deck at camp the other day and this young couple walk by. As they go by the girl (young lady) smiles. Kieran says to me " she thinks I'm cute", I respond, "why do you think that? were you talking to her earlier?". He says "no, she just smiled at me". What a kid!!! already building up that ego!!!!

These pics are of Kieran last summer. He thought it was really funny to have a snail crawling across his face!! Slime trail and all!

For this layout I got to break into a brand new pad of paper and stickers I bought from Winners last year. I couldn't resist the cute little animals!! Because the paper was uncut and the stickers unopened, I am going to enter this in Seriously Creative's challenge- Un-Inked, Un-Cut, Un-Opened. I am also going to enter it in Scrap Your Crap's challenge - Floss or Twine. The title was stamped with CTMH's Pennant and Cocktail Alphas. The paper and stickers are DCWV.

Sweet Girl

Happy Summer everyone!! I am off for the summer so hopefully I'll have a bit more time to catch up on blogging, and reading your blogs, in between spending time with the kids and being at camp. So far I don't have work lined up for September either, it's likely going to be a rough year for all of us teachers in Ontario, so maybe I'll have even more time???
I am still posting pics of layouts I did at my weekend crop in April!!! I'm hoping I find my mojo again soon, something about summer weather just does me in (: I just finished ordering a few new Kraftin' Kimmie stamps, she has everything on sale right now!!, so hopefully they will get me going again.

This layout is of Azelyn (the pic is from a couple of years ago). I copied it from the CTMH idea book (p 50). As soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to do one just like it. All products are CTMH, the paper is Florentine.

Off to my cousin's wedding today and taking Aidan out to camp on Sunday. I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!!!

Relax - Use It or Lose It Challenge #8

This week at Use It or Lose It our challenge is Anything Goes. I made this card for an exchange we were doing in my Hostess Group. I was supposed to do a card for a man's birthday but with Father's Day coming up I left it kind of general so they could use it for Father's Day if they wanted to.
I used the Relax stamp set (I believe it is retired) and Wings creative basics.

I hope you can join us this week!! and remember to use up your scraps (:

My Handsome Boy

Man am I slacking or what!!! Work and nice weather have totally taken over my time!!! The countdown till the end of school has begun!!! 16 days!!!! Speaking of school, I ran into one of my students from 3 years ago at Walmart today!! She was that one kid in the class that gave me a reason to plan lessons every night (it was a jackpot class!!). She also gave me a beautiful card, with an even more beautiful note inside at Christmas that year (not to mention a  couple of boxes of chocolates) that I keep handy when things are nuts at work!! When she saw me she said "I can't believe it's you!!! How are you!? I want a hug". What a sweetie, eh!? She is now in her first year of college and doing really well (: It's really neat to see what your past students end up doing.

This is another layout I did at my weekend crop in April. I have always loved this pic of Aidan at camp. It's so him.
I used Echo Park's Little Boy collection for this one. Along with some Bo-bunny double dot cs (love that BoBunny dot paper!!) The journalling cards and buttons are CTMH. I bummed the twine from my dear friend Jen (: A big hug and thanks go to my sweet friend Stacey who did the beautiful zig zag stitch for me and then let me play/learn on her sewing machine. I did all of the purposefully messy stitching (:
I am going to enter this in Seriously Creative's Challenge- Buttons and Twine, and Let's Get Sketchy's sketch challenge.

So this Saturday is mine and Lee's 11th anniversary and we're actually going to get some time for just us. Our moms have agreed to take the kids for a couple of days so that we can either go to camp (and I will get to fish) or go out for dinner and a movie.... It will be a nice little break!!

Have a great weekend!!!

Together

When I was at the Spring Fling weekend crop, many of the girls were doing a workshop on a layout to put in a shadow box. I wasn't willing to give up the time needed to dedicate myself to the project so I didn't sign up, but after seeing some of theirs completed I thought I would give it a whirl. It isn't as fancy as theirs but I am happy with the results (:
The picture isn't the best but I liked it for this paper. It is of my Dad and Azelyn just cuddling on the couch while they watch TV together.
The pic is matted on pink velvet paper (thanks to Kathy for cutting it out on her grand calibur for me!!) the patterned paper is Prima, the flowers are mostly Recollections. I used Graphically Speaking to cut out the title, Art Philosophy to cut out the big butterfly and paper doily, and my SU embosslit and MS punch to cut the little butterflies. Bling is Eva and I think the doily is K&C company?? The pretty border at the bottom is Prima I think??

It looks like my computer is back in business!! I got it back "unfixed" but they actually fixed what I sent it in for (the screen), they just found water damage (oops, darn coffee!!) on the keyboard and motherboard that I couldn't afford to fix ($900 to repair a $500 computer!!!)

It is camp season though, so I'm not sure how much scrapping I'm going to get in!! Hopefully I'll stay ahead enough to have something to post each week.

Have a great long weekend everyone!!! We are heading out to camp and I heard on the radio this afternoon that there is already a fire ban!! so I guess our first few nights at camp will be fireless ):

SpiderMen!!

Wow!!! I didn't realize until yesterday that it has been a month since my last post!!!
It has been a crazy month!! I started at a new school just after the March Break and while there I was shuffled between two jobs. I was just starting to feel settled in at work when THE COLD (fever, headache, which then turned into a sore throat, followed by a bad, pesky cough!!) hit our house. Then last Friday the invertor went in my new laptop and it had to be sent into the shop!!!
I have been doing a bit of scrapbooking so I have had some layouts to show you, it was just a matter of getting some pics taken.
This layout is the companion to the Captain America layout I did of Kieran a while ago. It is the second layout from the Superhero WOTG from CTMH. I changed it up a wee bit but it is pretty close to the original. The pics are of Kieran and his little buddy back at camp a couple of summers ago. His friends mom had painted their faces like Spiderman!! They were so happy and excited!!
I don't know about you but when I'm scrapbooking and can't remember when the pic is from, I usually look at what the kids are wearing to help me. But this doesn't work so well with Kieran!! He doesn't grow very fast and so he wears the same clothes for a couple of years. For example, the shirt he is wearing in these pics, I just took it out of storage for him to wear again this summer!!!

I had to share the next picture with you!!! After a couple of years with no dishwasher and having to nag my teenager to do the dishes, we finally got a new one!!! I had plans of just going and getting the one that was on sale but nothing can ever be that simple!!! After going between 3 stores we ended up with a more top of the line/expensive one. Lee decided that because we have hard water we needed one that had stainless steel inside, and guess what!!? Only a few dishwashers have that option!! So instead of coming home with it that day like planned we had to wait a few days for it to come in. When it did come in, we got it all unwrapped and ready to go. When we went to put it in the hole that was there from the last one, it was TOO TALL!!! Lee wasn't sure how he was going to trim the bottom of the cupboard because he didn't have the right kind of saw. I jokingly said, " why don't you just go and get the chainsaw?!" (that is what he used to cut some of the floor out of the camper when we were fixing it up so I was teasing him)
Can you say REDNECK!!!? We had all of the windows and doors open to let the smell out. MEN!!!

Altered Paper is...

our Challenge #5 at Use It or Lose It this week!! Find a piece of paper you haven't used, cause you just don't like it the way it is, and change it up so you do like it (: You can stamp, emboss (dry or heat), paint, distress....
My fellow DT members have come up with some gorgeous cards and layouts so be sure to head on over and check them out.

For my layout I took a piece of CTMH patterned paper from an old paper pack that looked like this

I stamped the whole page with the flower background stamp from Diverse Backgrounds in versamark and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I then used my Tattered Rose distress ink to give it some colour. This is what it looked like before anything was added to it.

I ended up having to glue it to a piece of cardstock to keep it lying a little more flat.

I scrapped another pic from Azelyn's first birthday. (It's hard to believe she will be 5 on Sunday!!) I glimmer misted the cs mats and the flowers. I painted chipboard letters (from my stash, non CTMH) with white and then Pearl paint. I then stamped on them with the same flower bg stamp. All other products are CTMH except for the butterflies. I used my SU embosslit and MME paper scraps.

I was pretty happy with the way my paper turned out, but when I showed my hubby my finished layout, he said "it's nice but I'm not crazy about that paper you used for the background"  ): Go figure!!

Anyway, here it is. Not a tonne of scraps on it (cs mats and butterflies) but I did use up a lot of things that have been sitting around for a bit!!

 Here's a close up of a section

Well I hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend!!! We have a couple of family meals and a few Egg Hunts on the schedule, not to mention baby Girl's birthday!!!

I hope you have a chance to join us this week for our Altered Paper Challenge!!

Happy Birthday Azelyn!!

I've been dying to ink up my fairies and after about a year of having them I finally did!! I have to say this was my absolute favourite release at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!! I am so in love with Annie's work! I actually hired Annie to design a tattoo for me based on these fairies. I still have to find an artist to do the tattoo for me though.
I made this card for Azelyn for her birthday, which happens to land on Easter Sunday again this year (: Her favourite colour is purple so I think this will work (:
I used BG paper ( I am entering this in Basic Grey's Girlie challenge), CTMH cs, bling, and the doily was cut using our Art Philosophy cartridge. The flowers are from my stash, and my Go Green part for the Kraftin' Kimmie challenge this week, is the ribbon which came on a gift a year or two ago. I also tried out my perfect pearls for the first time. It all went OK until I forgot about them drying and mucked them up ): I wiped off what I could and redid them.

I haven't added a sentiment because I'm not sure where to put it?? I'll likely just put one inside.

Have a great weekend!!

Happy 7th Birthday Kieran!

My little guy Kieran turned 7 yesterday!! He is such a little sweetheart (: When I asked him what he wanted for his birthday he said, "You just get me what you think I will like and I will like it!" He just melts my heart. Then he added that he would like a big thing of Smarties (:

I started colouring this image for my hubby's birthday but then never got around to finishing it, so I took it with me this past weekend to the crop I was at and finished it up and made a card. I used the sketch over at the LOTV Challenge site so that I could enter it for a chance to win some of the new release stamps that come out today!!
I am also going to enter it in Cute Card Thursday's Anything Goes Challenge.

The image and sentiment are LOTV, the paper is MME, cs, ribbon and buttons are CTMH. I used my spellbinders to cut him out and copics to colour him in. I also used my wonderful new cloud template again!!

I am counting this as one of my fancy cards for the year (:

Use It or Lose It Challenge #4- Paper Piecing

Our challenge this week at Use It or Lose It is to paper piece somewhere on your card or layout. I have used paper piecing on layouts before but couldn't think of something this time, so I decided to make a card instead. I used my CTMH Sensational Season stamp and paper pieced the bunnies dress and apron using the Mayberry paper. I used my copics to colour the rest of the bunny but just used regular cs to colour on, man what a difference good paper makes for blending!! I should have used my Neenah!!!
My dear friend Kirsty ordered me the fabulous cloud template I used to do the sky with! Isn't she the best!!? I love how the sky turned out!!! I cut my image out with a spellbinder. The ribbon was just from my stash. The pink ribbon is actually off of a box of Godiva chocolates 2 of my wonderful students gave me before I left Lockerby (:

Well, I hope you can play along with us this week at Use It or Lose It!!! Remember to use up some of your scraps!!!

I'm off to a fundraising crop for the Sault Ste Marie Search and Rescue this weekend!!!! I will catch up on your posts when I get back (:

Hugs!!

Quick Birthday card

Codie's girlfriend had her birthday just over a week ago. When my hubby asked him if he got her a card, Codie (a typical teenager) replied, "Why? That's what I have Mom for."!!!! I told him to keep dreaming, but then I caved and made this quick card for him to give her. I found the idea on Pinterest (I think I added the original to my board if you want to see it)
I embossed the cs with my Swiss Dot folder, punched the circles out of random (mostly MME) paper with my SU punch (& popped them up), stamped the sentiment with a CTMH stamp set, and tied ribbon from my stash around the side. It didn't take long at all (:

My contract was done when the March Break started, so today I got to send the kids to school and have some me time!!! I went and spent part of the day with my good friend Deb and we crafted up some cards!! The one I completed today is for the Use It or Lose It challenge this week, so you will have to stop by on Friday to check it out.
I have some work at another high school starting next week  (for a week or 2) so I am going to enjoy the bit of time I have this week for sure!!!! Crafting, cleaning ): and soaking up some of that gorgeous sun!!!

 Have a great week!!!

Jenn (:
